The challenge
This financial advisory firm provides services across wealth management, lending, insurance and retirement planning. As its business grew, it wanted a clearer and more manageable view of revenue and expense information.
The firm needed to connect data from different systems, make mapping and reporting more consistent, and control how transaction adjustments were made. Spreadsheet-based reconciliation was part of the existing process, so the solution needed to address both data handling and review.
Data preparation
Bring external transaction information into a consistent reporting structure.
Financial visibility
Make revenue and expense information available for review within Salesforce.
Controlled adjustments
Provide appropriate permissions and traceability for expense updates.
What we did
The program combined externally processed and mapped transaction data with Salesforce Data Cloud and a custom Salesforce interface for reviewing financial information.
Prepare and ingest
Transaction information was processed and mapped externally before ingestion into Data Cloud.
Review within Salesforce
A custom component supported transaction review, reallocation and tracking.
Control adjustments
Permission-based expense updates supported data governance and auditability.
What changed
The firm gained a centralised view of revenue and expense data within Salesforce, with less manual processing through automated ingestion workflows. Separately, permission-based updates gave teams more control over financial adjustments.
